Data Scientist

Sporty Group, a leading global sports betting and gaming platform with millions of weekly users, is hiring a Data Scientist to design and deploy machine learning solutions that directly drive business impact. 🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models to solve business problems (e.g., churn prediction, LTV modeling, recommendation systems)
- Design research methodologies and select appropriate statistical/ML techniques
- Monitor and evaluate performance of existing models
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, and traders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Apply probability theory and perform risk, liabilities, and probabilities calculations
- Translate business challenges into supervised and unsupervised learning problems
🔹 Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a data scientist, quantitative analyst, or similar role
- Degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of:
- Statistical models: regression (linear/logistic), negative binomial, clustering, PCA
- ML models: random forests, SVMs, matrix factorization, deep learning
- Bayesian statistics, numerical methods, inferential statistics
- Proficiency in:
- Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, LightGBM)
- SQL and relational databases
- Proven ability to contribute to business growth and revenue impact through data science

- Experience with Apache Spark
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Prior exposure to the gaming or sports betting industry
