Community Manager
You’ll own end-to-end community growth and engagement for a global membership network advancing participatory democracy. Partnering across staff and member organizations, you’ll turn shared goals into programs, decisions, and measurable outcomes—strengthening capacity, aligning priorities, and tackling common challenges across regions and sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Member engagement & programming: Design and run virtual workshops, events, and co-created activities that build skills, relationships, and shared resources.
- Member support: Provide timely, tailored assistance to members; route needs to staff/partners; maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Learning & improvement: Gather feedback, analyze insights, and iterate on community experience, resources, and processes.
- Strategy & growth: Coordinate community strategy with internal committees; recruit and diversify membership across regions and sectors; manage clear onboarding.
- Governance: Facilitate member-led decision-making and organizational votes; evolve practical, transparent governance systems.
- Communications: Manage member channels (e.g., WhatsApp, email); create content for blog, newsletter, website, and social to spotlight activities and resources.
- Operations: Contribute to org-wide meetings and planning; support cross-team initiatives and documentation to keep the network aligned and effective.
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years managing international membership communities, networks, or alliances.
- Proven ability to grow and engage diverse stakeholders; strong relationship-building and community organizing skills.
- Comfortable working across cultures and power dynamics with humility and service orientation.
- Clear, compelling written and verbal communication in English; able to simplify complex ideas across languages and contexts.
- Solid project management and organization (Asana/Airtable or similar; Google Workspace); able to juggle multiple workstreams independently.
- Genuine commitment to participatory democracy, equity, and community empowerment; values-aligned and growth-oriented.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in an additional language (e.g., French, Spanish, Portuguese).
- Experience in participatory democracy, civic engagement, or adjacent fields.
- Comfort working remotely across time zones.

- Salary: $82,000–$90,000 USD, adjusted for local cost of living (final amount depends on location, experience, and skills).
