Game Data Analyst

A Thinking Ape (ATA) is seeking a Game Data Analyst to join their Data and Player Insights Team. This role focuses on self-service analytics enablement and deep game performance analysis to inform product strategy and improve player experience. The analyst will use data to guide decisions across mobile game development and operations.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Self-Service Analytics: Build tools, dashboards, and models to enable teams to explore and act on data independently.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Conduct deep analysis of player behavior and game performance to guide engagement strategies.
- A/B Testing: Support test design and analysis for feature experiments and game operations.
- Data Literacy: Mentor other team members, promote best practices, and ensure data consistency and quality.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers to drive data-informed decisions.
- Data Pipeline Work: Collaborate with data engineers to improve data models and pipeline infrastructure.
- Predictive Modeling: Create models to forecast KPIs like churn and lifetime value (LTV).
🔹 Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5+ years in game data analysis or similar field.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in SQL; Python is a plus.
- Skilled in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker; Looker preferred).
- Applied knowledge of statistical techniques.
- Communication & Leadership: Able to present complex data to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Gaming Insight: Understanding of mobile gaming, game KPIs, and player behavior; marketing knowledge is a bonus.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
